I have practiced family law for more than 30 years. I was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, and I have enjoyed living in this community throughout my life. I have been married to my lovely wife now for 35 years, and we raised our own children (twin boys, now almost 30 years old) together in Greensboro from their birth through college graduation. I consider myself a life-long "learner," and I have enjoyed many hobbies over the years including golf, racquetball, film and music appreciation. I have also enjoyed working on home and auto repairs and improvements for most of my life.

I attended UNC-Chapel Hill through my graduation and then returned to Greensboro to reinvigorate myself through work in the community for two years prior to beginning and then completing law school at Campbell University Law School. Although many of my classmates went on to work throughout the state as private attorneys, public service attorneys, judges, and other vocations to serve their communities, I returned to Greensboro and accepted a position in 1990 with the law firm of Schlosser and Neil (later, Schlosser, Neil and Brackett) to handle family law matters exclusively. Although it may have seemed at the time that I was thrown "into the deep end" without the benefit of significant prior family law experience or substantive training (apart from the general law school curriculum) I quickly learned the rapidly developing legal aspects of family law, the art of advocacy, and the personal management of each client's individual case that would be required for me to continue as a family law attorney in this area.

In 2005 I set out to open my own office as a solo family law practitioner and established a small office near UNC-Greensboro. There, and for the next 18 years, I worked steadily and consistently to enhance and refine the skills and experience I obtained while working with a general law firm. Today, although I my office has since changed location to the Friendly Center area of Greensboro, I strive to maintain the skills, knowledge, commitment and experience I developed throughout my professional and personal life. I value the trust that each of my past and present clients has provided me to handle his or her divorce, separation, or other family law matters. I look forward to personally meeting and serving each of my clients, and hope to continue to deliver personal, yet effective and efficient service for many years to come.
